Levi and I remember the exact day that we met, and down to this day it continues to be one of our fondest memories. It was the weekend of July 4th, 2016, and the Vincent’s were up north visiting some mutual friends of ours. I had plans with some friends that came up for the cherry festival, and being the social butterfly that I am I thought to myself, “Yay more people! They need to come with us and hang out today!” So Levi and his younger sister McKenna hopped in my car, and we all had the best afternoon filled with eating and longboarding and enjoying a perfect summer day in Traverse city.
From then on, if Levi was up north or I was downstate we would try and meet up, and every trip was a blast filled with many laughs and good memories. In between those trips we would go on with our lives as usual but sporadically try and catch up on FaceTime. Being that we always got along so well and are both talkers, these calls would typically end up being hours long because there was so much to fill each other in on.
Finally, during the spring of 2020, after four years of being “just friends” (but always having each other in the back of our minds) we decided to take the leap and elevate our friendship to the next level. It didn’t take us long to realize that we didn’t want to live without each other. We knew that we had finally found our forever person, and after dating for some time, at the end of a family beach trip to Holland on August 29th, 2020, as the sun was setting Levi popped the REALLY big question.
Of course I said yes to spending the rest of my life with my best friend! It was a long time coming, and we are so happy that through all of the craziness in life we get to be each others partner in crime as we take on life’s many adventures that await us.
